The clients, a professional couple from Lymington, were looking for a modern take on the cottage garden look. They were happy to work in the garden but didn't want it to be high maintenance. Design concious they were looking for a strong backbone of landscaping and planting that they could grow with and develop.

Using Circles

A circular bed and lawn with a curved path and box hedge created a much more interesting layout for this town garden than the usual narrow beds along the boundaries.

Forms and Colour

The startling white bark of the three Betula utilis provide an pleasing contrast with form and colour of the standard Olive and slate water feature.
