Expert garden design and horticulture in the New Forest
Our clients, a professional couple, had moved into a cliff top property in Milford-on-Sea and inherited a garden with a lot of hard landscaping and little else. They were keen to add interesting planting and a design which reflected the contemporary design of the alterations they were making to the house. They were keen to recycle as much of the existing hard materials as possible and the planting needed to be low maintenance.

Architectural Coastal Planting
Chamaerops humilis and Arundo donax contribute interesting architectural forms to this contemporary garden.
Repetition of Colour
The similar colours of the slate paving and the basalt gravel provide cohesion. Creeping thyme was planted in the basalt and will soften the effect over time.
Soft Forms In Hard Landscaping
Rocks poke out from waves of Santolina and sprays of Euphorbia characias.
